      YES, there are really only two seasons in the Antarctic; Summer and Winter. Most (but not all as Emperor and King Penguins are different) animals use the warmer summer months to breed so a lot of their time is spent feeding their young. For animals like seals and penguins this means they have to come onto land. In the winter some animals, such as some whales and birds, migrate to warmer more northerly areas and others just stay at sea.
