I had to study pretty hard, I found A levels really difficult, but I knew that I wanted to go to university and I enjoyed my subjects, so it was important to me that I get the right grades. I’m so glad I did work so hard as well – I loved university and now I’m working in a job that I love, so it was definitely worth it 🙂
I had to study pretty hard. I’m not naturally smart and found exams hard, so had to put in a lot of time and practice in my studies. I found coursework easier, so put a lot of time and effort in doing well at getting high grades on my coursework so it took the pressure off in my exam performance – but I still had to do pretty well to achieve the high grades I had set my aims at! Studying subjects I enjoyed helped as I had a natural interest that I wanted to pursue and spend the time getting better and learning more about the subjects I chose at A-level and university.
I had to work pretty hard, especially at subjects that I was not so good at. I always struggled with Chemistry so it too a lot of effort to pass my A level in it.
Looking back I wish I had worked even harder as there are lots of things I have to study now that I was taught at school. My regret is that I did not do better at languages as it would be great to be able to communicate better when I am travelling both for work and fun.
School is such a brilliant time even though you may not think it is now
