• Question: What if no one had cells functioning around their body what would happen?

      Hi 699mndp42, if all cells in a body stop functioning then the organism dies.

      One part of this process is autolysis (auto = self and lysis = breakdown), which is cellular self-digestion. This self-destruction of cells occurs internal cellular enzymes (endo = inside and genous = originating from) are released and work to break down cellular material.

      I think quite simply if you have no functioning or living cells in your body, you would not be alive!

      Your body is made of living cells, so I guess if none of them were functioning properly then you’d be dead 🙁
