I did Chemistry and Biology at A-level, as well as History. However, aged 18, I did not think of myself as a scientist. I studied at university for four years and was awarded a Bachelor of Technology in Archaeological Sciences…..I began to think that I could call myself a scientist then. I then went to study for three more years to complete a PhD in Chemistry. When I finished that, aged 28, I really did think that I had made it as a scientist.
For me it was when I graduated with my MSc in Medical statistics and started working as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry, I was 23 🙂 That was 4 years ago now!
