      I did Chemistry and Biology at A-level, as well as History. However, aged 18, I did not think of myself as a scientist. I studied at university for four years and was awarded a Bachelor of Technology in Archaeological Sciences…..I began to think that I could call myself a scientist then. I then went to study for three more years to complete a PhD in Chemistry. When I finished that, aged 28, I really did think that I had made it as a scientist.
