• Question: Hello Carl. I was intrigued about your 'story' and your research that you undergo with your projects. I decided to do some research into some 'current' and previous projects (Don't know how current these projects are but found them all quite an interesting read, https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Carl_Heron). After reading through a handful of them, i have a few personal questions that i would like to ask: - I'm sure it's tough, but do you have a single favourite project Thank you P.S 'Organic Mass Spectrometry in Art and Archaeology' was a personal favourite from what i have read.

Hello Hayden, that’s very inquisitive of you. A good scientist always goes beyond the superficial.

OK, so I think my favourite project is one that I am working on now. I want to know why hunter-gatherers made and use pottery vessels thousands of years before farming was introduced. When I was studying archaeology at university, my professors told me that pottery was first made by farmers. We now know that’s not the case, so I’m trying to pin down when and why hunter-gatherers made pottery. I’m studying the way in which the pots were used from the remains of food preserved in association with them. I’ll look at your other questions later……I have meetings now.
