• Question: I decided to do some research into your 'current' and previous projects - 3rd question: - Were there any moments in which you had little to no hope. If so what kept you going.

Hello again, yes many times. Mostly the challenges were about securing access to the right laboratory infrastructure – in effect, the scientific instruments that we use. They can be very expensive to buy, to install and to maintain. If instruments break down, and they sometimes do, then it is difficult to sustain the research. What kept me going is that I had responsibilities for other members of the team – students, for example, that I was supervising. Failure was not an option so we managed to overcome the difficulties.
