      Actually, a good mixture of GCSEs will be fine. History is helpful as it helps you to write essays and think about the past. Geography helps to understand landscapes, climate and so on. But science, maths, English and even languages will all be useful. Universities don’t really require you to take specific A-levels (or equivalents). They look for your enthusiasm for studying archaeology. In truth, almost any subject is relevant for studying archaeology at university.
